We’ve watched Sam go through the techniques to cut a twisted fringe and a side part fringe. So many of our fans have raved about this simple technique as it takes the place of using diagonal partings. Sam teaches us that low elevation and finger angle is key for these techniques as well as cutting on dry hair. When we use diagonal partings we run the risk of elevating as we bring down each section. These techniques are so much faster and easier for us as stylists and not so easy for a client to do on themselves!

Learn the proper mechanics of the Twist Bang Cut and simply your life behind the chair!

I’m not a stylist by all means BUT I love the tutorials!! Explains all the techniques clearly as well as maintaining pace of each step. So easy to watch that I subscribed. Sometime down the road, I know I’ll refer to his vids when I’m cutting hair.

Hi Mr. Villa, thank you so much for your helpful videos. I’m an “experienced amateur” (if there is such a thing ha), do-it-myself hair stylist, and have been watching many bang cutting tutorials b/c I’d like to add bangs to my current hair style. Your video was very helpful on multiple points, and well-addressed a question I’ve had on the subject- which is how to cut bangs with a side part. However, I haven’t seen a video anywhere that addresses the obstacle I face (no pun intended) in cutting my own bangs. I have a cowlick at the top left corner of my hairline. It lines up right between the arch and tail of my eyebrow, and coincidentally (or maybe not so?) is where my hair parts naturally. I recently cut a very thin, whispy fringe as a trial bang, and discovered that my bangs split right where the cowlick is (I’d actually forgotten I had a cowlick there). Anyway, ultimately I’d like to cut a bit thicker short bang that’s more straight across to wear with my short bob, but I’m concerned that my cowlick may present a problem with them laying flat, without a gap. Do you have any advice for a novice? Thank you!
