Celebrity Hairdresser Stuart Phillips and top colourist Lara Clark creates a fantastic new haircut and colour on model Lisa.

(Please note the video shot was not intended to look this stretched, this technical hitch happened 2 years after the upload and cannot be rectified but the video is still of a good quality.

On June 27th 2011, Stuart Philips and Vibe International Models held a casting together at the Stuart Phillips salon in London to find the perfect model for Stuart’s new hair video and also to be signed up to Vibe International Model Agency.
In order to find the perfect model Stuart first had to look at each models bone structure, face shape and body type etc, this is very important when there’s going to be a radical change, height and confidence was also an important factor, as she would be filmed showing off her new hairstyle walking outside in the streets.

Stuart looked for a potential model with the possibility of improving her looks and sex appeal even more, this doesn’t work for all models because sometimes cutting their long hair short can have an adverse effect.

Lisa Chenneour was one of the favourites to receive the job out of the 15 models present, she seemed to fit this criteria perfectly. After watching how Lisa walked as if she was on a catwalk, the decision was made to chose her for the Stuart Phillips hair video and to be signed up to Vibe International Models.

Lisa was about to undergo a massive re-style, from long to a short, choppy/funky haircut and a radical colour change, from black to a fiery red/copper.

Top make-up artist Maria Foster was on hand to create the beautiful make-up.

The video shoot was photographed by Ross at Cambell Photographic and placed in Sky’s Angels Magazine for 10 pages and front cover.

Hi Stuart! I just found your video as I was trying to find a hairstyle to change my look. I am having some troubles though as my hair is naturally curly. I was just wondering if you would have a suggestion? I am looking to go maybe shoulder length but i don't want my curls to frizz out.
    Thanks! Cheyenne

1 cm of the sides every 6 weeks, then when the back continues into the sides as a v shape I would then keep it around that length. I wouldn't advise you to have the sides of your hair cut into or any layers added, this is because there is less hair at the sides than the back.I would keep the sides as solid and blunt as possible. At the back you could have some graduation but make sure it doesn't go too high!
    I hope that helped Christa!

    Hi Christa,
After looking at your photos I feel that the haircut is too short for your face. This is because you have a square shape face and a bob cut will tend to make your face appear more square by widening it. I also agree with you that the cut is too disconnected, if your hair was thicker then maybe you could get away with a bit of disconnection but on fine hair it can make it appear even finer.
I wouldn't cut it much shorter as that also wouldn't suit you, I would take around

HI Stuart! I recently subscribed to your channel. Right now I'm sporting a graduated bob that is angeled below my chin. It is short stacked in the back and looks disconnected on the sides. ( like old Victoria Beckhams hair) Is there a way to have the haircut look more connected together and keep the angle. I also have naturaly curly hair which I need to blow out and flat iron to get the look. Mayby a layered bob instead?

Hi Jessica, after looking at your photo on Facebook I wouldn't recommend you going as short as the model's hair. I would recommend a longer version, so when you look in the mirror you see some of your hair from the back. Although you could go for a similar shape but at least 2-4cm longer. Your hairdresser should be able to guide you to exactly how much longer! Please remember that you would have to blow-dry your curls out a bit (not completely) each time that you washed it.

Hi Jessica, your face shape would work but the problem is you would need to blow-dry your hair each time you washed it! It would be very difficult to explain exactly what shape from a photo as I would need to actually see your hair before and after it was washed! (because of your unruly hair) Sometimes when you go short you lose some of your curl and if that's the case it would be much easier drying it! Although I explained that it would be difficult for me to see from a pic

Hi Brooke, You could have exactly the same shape but you would need to adapt it slightly by keeping the overall length and layers between 1-2 inches longer!

I love this haircut. I subscribed in exchange for advice- I have a semi- angular oval face, and my natural haircolor is close to that of my profile picture. I just went a deeper auburn ( nearly purple at the moment, but will fade quickly as it's demi- permanent color) I'd love to go short, really short The problem is I have pretty unruly hair; but I'd be willing to style a bob or pixie. Are there any short styles that would work well with curly hair, or would look particularly nice on my face?

That's correct, I cut into the ends of the layers and outline to create more texture!

Hi, the two face shapes that a pixie cut works on is oval or round! The hairdresser will need to look at your face shape then make a descion on how short, if it's cut too short it can make your face shape appear rounder, so there will be some trust in your hairdresser chossing the exact length. It doesn't matter how thick your hair is that won't affect the cut!

    Hi 🙂
So, I'm planning on getting a pixie cut, I have more of a rounder face, but I have SUPER thick hair… will this affect the cut itself? Also, I don't want to make my face look fat, so would the cut thin it down? Thanks 😀

Hi! IIt's been a long time since I've been considering to go for a change on my hair and pixies and bobs are on top of the list of my favourite styles but I'm really afraid of cutting my hair that much if I don't choose the correct one. Would you please give me some advice? 🙂

Poor girl. The combination of the hair colour, style, and make-up are exactly like a male mannequin I've seen many times. Mind you it looks a zillion times better than it did before. The colour is vibrant and dimentional, and the technique is flawless.

to hold the chosen burgundy-red (from the colour chart) up against your skin, this is to make sure it will look good against your skin tone and eye colour. I think it will look good but be prepared for a major change, as the colour alone will change your appearance in a big way!
Good luck and send me a photo of your finished makeover!

    Hi Mirial,
The shorter cut will definitely suit your face shape, although I may start with it a little longer first, your hairdresser can always take it shorter at the end of the cut!
At the back of your hair I would cut it at an angle, the longest being the crown, then to angle my fingers towards your hair-line. Then make sure that the outline at the back, sides and fringe it's chopped into, so there's no straight lines.
For the hair colour ask your colourist
